The sixth generation of the flagship model of the BMW range, the 7 Series, has landed in New Zealand and with it an array of engaging new technology and advanced features.

“The new BMW 7 Series introduces a host of world-first technical innovations to the New Zealand luxury automotive market, such as Gesture Control, Laserlight and the impressive new remote control parking,” said BMW Group New Zealand Managing Director, Florian Renndorfer.

“Combined with luxurious interior appointments, elegant exterior design and trademark driving dynamics further enhanced by significant weight savings thanks to the new carbon core, the BMW 7 Series is a trendsetting flagship for the BMW range. This incredible vehicle is the epitome of motoring excellence and will shape the future of automotive luxury.”

There will be two new models available from launch, including the very first application of BMW xDrive in a right-hand drive 7 Series model.

“We’re really excited to be able to offer the dynamic new 740d xDrive, which provides outstanding surefootedness thanks to its all-wheel drive capability,” said Mr Renndorfer.

“However, it’s difficult to escape the pure emotion and unadulterated sheer driving pleasure associated with the BMW TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol engine available in the range-topping BMW 750i.”

The new BMW 7 Series is available with an extensively updated V8 engine and six-cylinder in-line diesel from the BMW Group’s latest generation of power units. Both engines link as standard with the likewise further developed eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission, with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.

The 740d xDrive is powered by a 3.0 litre, six-cylinder diesel engine producing 235kW and 680Nm of torque, while the 750i features a 4.4 litre, V8 petrol engine, generating 330kW of power and 650Nm of torque.
