Vehicle Safety Recalls
BMW Group spends thousands of hours in conjunction with an extremely rigorous test regime and quality observation on its vehicles. However, despite such test regimes, some components may be found not to meet the required standards, identified through ongoing quality observation.
Finding out if your car is affected
If you own a New Zealand new BMW Group vehicle that must be recalled, an Authorised BMW Dealer or BMW New Zealand will contact you.
If you own a BMW Group vehicle imported from Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Great Britain, South Africa or Australia, BMW New Zealand makes every effort to obtain the lists of affected vehicles at the time the recall is released. The relevant owner information is then requested from Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ www.ltsa.co.govt.nz) and an Authorised BMW Dealer or BMW New Zealand will contact you.
It is presumed that vehicles entering New Zealand after the release of a safety recall have had the recall completed by the source market where they were first sold. To check if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls please search for further information.
BMW New Zealand will cover the cost of all parts and labour for outstanding safety recalls.
