BMW, internationally renowned as the world’s leading purveyor of premium motor vehicles, has partnered with an equally recognised expert from the culinary field – New Zealand’s own Michelin star chef and Master Chef TV show judge, Josh Emett.
Both BMW and Josh have received numerous accolades on the global stage in their respective fields and his stunning new Rata establishment in Queenstown is destined to follow suit.
Josh, himself a BMW owner so already familiar with the brand and its values, didn’t hesitate to partner with BMW when the opportunity arose.
“I’ve driven a variety of BMW models, but my favourite would have to be an E92 M3 I used to drive in the USA. I loved the dynamic driving experience, the feeling of unbridled acceleration and also the appearance of the car. Food is somewhat similar to a performance orientated BMW – it can provide you with a similar sort of rush, both when preparing a meal and also savouring the end result.
“Similarly, aesthetics are vitally important to food, as that is where first impressions count and you need to ensure there is a real ‘wow factor’ when you present a meal or a car to someone for the first time.

As part of the partnership, Josh will be driving a new BMW X3 when at home in Queenstown.
